A trip to the Russian banya can be a memorable experience. The temperature in Russian banya can come up to 93 degrees Celsius (199 °F). Banya lovers can hit themselves with birch brooms – dried branches and leaves of the white birch or oak – that are usually moistened before use. It is done for health to improve the blood circulation. After that you need to cool off then reenter the banya and small amounts of hot water are splashed over the rocks again. The Safari Park was created by Dmitry Mezentsev, a biologist and wildlife photographer, in 2007 and solves several problems: it helps wounded and sick animals, releases recovering animals back into the wild, and provides education on the environment. And, most importantly for visitors, it provides the opportunity to look a wild animal in the eye. This is not a zoo where the animals are sitting in cages, and it is not a circus. Here the animals live freely in their familiar environment, albeit limited to a few hectares. The park is divided into sections: hoofed animals, predators, and birds.

It was created in April 2012 to save the Far Eastern leopard that was on the edge of extinction due to man’s activity. Today, Land of Leopard is the only place in Russia where you can meet for types of wild cats, the Far Eastern leopard, the Amur tiger, the lynx and the Far Eastern wild cat, at one time. Wild cats’ trails can be found of the path where the tour starts. Tigers and Leopards are very cautious animals, and they prefer to observe their guests from a distance. For this reason, people almost never see these cats. It lies near Lake Khasan and the Tumen River. It is the link between Russia and North Korea, by a rail bridge over the TumenRiver. Directly across the river is the North Korean station in Tumangang Workers' District, Sonbong. Famous battle of Khasan Lake (July 29, 1938 – August 11, 1938, part of Soviet-Japanese Border Wars) took place here. During the excursion you will have an opportunity to listen to many stories about this battle and a feat accomplished by Heroes of Khasan which ends with Soviet victory.
